Atomic Heart is a first-person, action-RPG set in a world of killer robots. The game isn’t the best at explaining some of its mechanics, so I’ve put together a list of tips that I would’ve loved to have early on.
Here are 9 things I wish I knew when I started playing Atomic Heart.
#gaming #atomicheart #gamespot
In the early hours of Atomic Heart, the game walks you through the purchase of ‘Shok’, an elemental upgrade for your sentient polymer glove Char-Les. This tutorial, as well as my experience with similar games, led me to believe that this was the only elemental upgrade available to me that early on. In fact Char-Les even says, [“More skills will become available to you soon” clip], but this is not 100% the truth as all the glove upgrades are available right away, you just need enough materials for them.
Atomic Heart does not tell you this, but if you head back into the NORA machine following the free tutorial upgrades, you’ll see that you have around 30 Neuropolymer that can be used. This is just enough to afford Polymeric Shield by itself OR Frostbite and Polymeric Jet together. The latter will set you up with 3 elemental powers right out the gate, giving you an early advantage against your foes.
The best part is that you are not locked into your decision here. You can return abilities at any point in the game at a NORA for 100% refund of resources. So if you’d rather try out the Shield ability first, you can do so and still try the other two abilities later and vice versa. The game eventually gives you this information, but it’s great to know sooner so you can start tinkering with your playstyle in the opening hours. This awesome refund feature also works when dismantling weapons and consumables, but you won’t need to worry about the weapons part yet. This is because unlike the glove upgrades, all the weapons are not available from the start and need to be unlocked using found blueprints.

This was a groovy review. End of line

A PVP multiplayer would play amazing with Atomic Heart’s movement & weaponry. As it stands, alone, this game is so well polished (I’m on Xbox One S) and the story is fascinating and rather plausible (especially with the current AI, neuralink & quantum computing)

This is so trivial but Charles loading screen Tips are way too fast. Dont get me wrong, im very intelejent just 1 ever learned me how 2 reed that fast.

It was the Neuromed capsules for me. I could not even you how many times I accidentally used them. 6 add to that was the fact that even if you are full health, it still wastes a capsule when you accidentally push the button.

Man I hope they make a sequel, this game is so good

I've really been enjoying this game! I'm sure people don't like it because it's not a battle royal and these newer generations aren't used to games like this

Using capsules didn’t know how to use them at first
Vedant Bharvirkar
The looting mechanic is so satisfying imo

This calling for banning things needs to stop. The game is a work of fiction. What next ban From Russia with Love, Red Heat, Rocky 4?

Don't sleep on the polymer jet and shock combo, most of the time I stun lock and enemy and take them out while they stand there shocked repeatedly
GreyHoodie

Hi do u know if it's possible to get back the the very first town to get the zvezdochka?

I feel like frost doesn't give me my loot. So I went with shield and telekinesis. Just beat it after 3 days of grinding through all of the puzzles you complete in order to upgrade different variants on a weapon.

Great tips thank you

You can remap any buttons through the ps5 settings. So if you’d rather have triangle switch your weapon on this game you can definitely change it. I have 2 scuf controllers and I gotta say I absolutely love them for the button mapping alone. Makes games that need the buttons tweaked so much more enjoyable 😅

Another great tip with the plant zombies… Make sure you slice up any corpse you can see into bits so that the parasite plant cant mount on them, makes fights easier

I had 42 😉

Yeah that button re-mapping would be awesome. Y is always switch weapons even in the old bioshock so why not give us the option🤷🏻♂️. Maybe they’ll add it later

The weapon map I've forgotten
Dick Jokes And Bondo
I’ve wasted so many health capsules while trying to swap weapons using the d pad 🤬

Should re title your video, "all information the game gives you extremely early but I made a video anyway"
Michael Martin
great vid, but as its for new players it would be cool if there weren't any spoiler fights and scenes from the later in the game.

Can we just take the time to appreciate decent games coming out without game breaking bugs ty developers we needed this (BioShock fans)
TestnameGamer42
The shield ability is useless and shock is irrelevant lol why did you even bother talking about it

Everyone seems to hate everything that isn’t a cookie cutter franchise these days. This game’s pretty fun, I’m glad I gave it a chance. Thanks for pointing out the Nora storage! Nora is my one major gripe, I peace out of her menu fast and completely overlooked that feature. Gonna go stock up …

Best game I've played this year. I'm surprised that I had more fun with Atomic Heart than Bioshock 2.
The little details are what impressed me. The Devs clearly cared about the player's time, because the usual annoying BS in games is gone.
Examples:
*puzzles all have a quick route back to the start in the event you fall or mess up.
* Item scavenging is semi-automated, so you don't have to pick up and organise every item.
*sound cues during exploration are incredible. During item collection, you get specific sounds to inform when you've collected everything
*dungeon exits are located close to your main objective, not in the middle of nowhere or at your starting location.
*When choosing to switch weapon/skill upgrades, you are refunded the resources used to improve the old upgrade.

Adding mods to weapons like fire is impossibly difficult to figure out

Appreciated!

Very similar vibes to bioshock. Great game.

This is basically a soviet bioshock

I wish I knew this game was Mid before I downloaded it

Really don't get the hate for this game. We don't get games like this very often anymore. Probably the best single player FPS I've played since Prey (2017).

If the game just improved combat, it wouldn't be getting the hate it is.

I bought this game, I love it. It's fun, and I support our Russian lord and savior Putin Christ. URAAAA

I'm a little over 8 hours in and so far i'm really loving the game.

Number one thing I wish I knew: you CANNOT sprint. Thought my controller was broken
fumblerooskie
This kind of looks like a cross between Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk.
Chad Ghostal
some of the glove upgrades are locked behind story moments. you can buy them early, but as soon as you try and exit, the game tells you its too early and gives you a refund.
Selwyn Gonzales
This game should have had a third person point of view, it would have made combat a lot easier but it is good so far
the dude
Game doesn't launch with any of the rt features. Relies way too much on chromatic aberration and other effects dialed to 1000. Turning them off the game actually looks worse.
The reviews aren't all over the place. This is a real 70 game. Definitely lucky they went on gamepass.
Frostguard1
Beat the game on apocalypse, pretty easy game, also mildy irritating that achievements are glitched for me. Than again my game crashed 5 times because I stun locked the final bosses lol.
Andreas Rutledge
Very useful tips,I'll keep these in mind when I buy my copy of this already awesome looking game.
